domestic installations

In January 2005, Part P of the Building regulations came into force. These regulations introduced new safety standards for electrical installation work carried out within domestic properties.

This means that with a few exceptions, any electrical work undertaken in your home such as a new power point, or any work in your kitchen, bathroom or garden must be notified to the Local Authority Building Control for inspection. There will be an inspection fee charged for this service by a local authority which will normally be in excess of £250.00.

By using L & B Electrical which is a registered with NIC EIC a competent person’s scheme we will be able to Self Certify the work and you will be assured the work meets the required standard.

As an NIC EIC approved contractor we have been independently assessed to ensure we operate to the highest safety standards. In addition our work is inspected on an annual basis which gives customers the assurance and confidence that our installations are fully compliant with the electrical regulations. On completion of your electrical work you will receive a certificate that is compliant to BS7671. This certificate should be kept in a safe place as you will certainly be asked to produce it at a later date for insurance purposes, or if you sell your property.
